Marine ORC
The specific action concerns the design and installation of an ORC unit which is mobile, innovative and suitable for large ship DIESEL engines' heat recovery. The output is 5 kWel for an available heat of 90 kWth. The design also involved the customization of the available heat and temperature. For this reason a related control and automation system has also been integrated to ensure the optimum operation of the system and its components (inverter technology. Based on results and conclusions gained by this programme, the development of a technology for systems and devices on a larger scale (scale-up) is feasible.

Evaluation of the effect of dry additives (limestone) on boiler efficiency and the reduction of SO2 emissions at Amyntaio Thermal Power Plant
Study on PPC’s target to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by using dry additives at the Amyntaio TPP. Monitoring and evaluation of the effect of dry additives (limestone) of fuel on efficiency and sulfur dioxide emissions of the power units. The monitoring concerned measurements at the control rooms of the units, with fuel and ash sampling during the tests and their analysis and with their evaluation with the use of computational models.
